Accelerated BSN Admission Overview
If you can’t wait to become a nurse, our ABSN program can get you started on your education as soon as possible. As long as you meet the Accelerated BSN admission requirements, you can apply for a start date in January or August.
The Marcella Niehoff School of Nursing reviews applications for each term on a rolling basis, meaning we evaluate applications upon arrival, rather than waiting for the submission deadline to pass. As a result, you’ll receive an admission decision within weeks as opposed to months.
Demand for the ABSN program is typically high, so it’s important that you meet all the eligibility requirements, including a minimum 3.0 cumulative GPA.

Important Information About the Fall 2019 Start Date
Due to high demand and limited capacity, the ABSN program at our Health Science campus in Maywood is no longer accepting new applications for the Fall 2019 class. The online-based ABSN program in Downers Grove is still accepting applications for the Fall 2019 start date.
We have a team of enrollment advisors who work exclusively with prospective ABSN students. These champions of higher learning know what it takes to be successful in the program and are readily available to share every last detail with you.
All it takes is one conversation to determine if our ABSN program is right for you, from both an academic and commitment standpoint. After all, accelerated nursing study requires a significant amount of time and energy to be successful. You could very much compare the program curriculum to a full-time job.
As a prospective ABSN student, you’ll work closely with an assigned enrollment advisor who will provide personalized support throughout the application process. As you work toward a program start date, this individual will offer guidance every step of the way and help ensure you meet each milestone.
