Accelerated BSN Online or On-Campus Courses

Covering the fundamentals of nursing, such as ethics, nutrition, and community health, these courses set the foundation for your accelerated online or on-campus nursing education. The curriculum is the same for both delivery methods, with courses taking the same time to complete. Your knowledge of nursing theory and core nursing skills is then put into practice during your nursing skills labs, nursing simulations, and clinical rotations.

ABSN Online Courses

Delivered through an intuitive digital learning platform, many of our Accelerated BSN online courses are video-based, allowing students to rewind, restart, or fast-forward.

To complete your ABSN courses online, you must enroll in the ABSN program track at our Downers Grove site. You’ll regularly attend the site to complete hands-on nursing skills labs and nursing simulations. Clinical rotations take place at a variety of Chicagoland health-care facilities.

Online Learning Support

Whether teaching our curriculum online or face-to-face, our faculty are highly accessible and passionate about what they do — they want nothing more than to see nursing students succeed. You also have access to an online learning specialist who can assist you with technical matters involving the learning management system.

Both learning formats are taught continuously, meaning you will complete our nursing curriculum simultaneously with the classmates in your cohort. We encourage fellow cohort members to study and collaborate, fostering communication among all students.

ABSN On-Campus Courses

If you prefer a learning experience where faculty teaches the curriculum face-to-face and in real-time, you must enroll in our ABSN program track at our Maywood Health Sciences Campus, home to Loyola’s Stritch School of Medicine and the Marcella Niehoff School of Nursing. You’ll attend class and participate in nursing skills labs and nursing simulations on campus. Clinical rotations will occur at Chicagoland area health-care facilities.

A Leading University and Campus

As a world-class research university, Loyola performs dozens of clinical studies per year at the Health Sciences Campus in Maywood, addressing conditions across the health-care continuum.

The campus also hosts several research institutes and centers, including the Cardinal Bernardin Cancer Center, focusing on various areas of health care, including burn and shock trauma, cardiovascular disease, neuroscience, infectious diseases, immunology, and oncology.
