Accelerated BSN Online or Onsite Courses

We make our Accelerated BSN courses available online or onsite. Covering the fundamentals of nursing, such as ethics, nutrition, and community health, these courses set the foundation for your accelerated nursing education. With both program formats, you’ll then put this coursework knowledge into practice during your nursing skills labs, nursing simulations, and clinical rotations.

ABSN Online Courses

Many of the courses are video-based, allowing students to rewind, restart, or fast-forward. And while assignment deadlines still apply, you can “attend class” when it best fits your schedule.

Although you are completing part of your curriculum online, you have access to all the same resources as on-campus students. Whether they’re teaching online or face-to-face, our faculty are highly accessible and passionate about what they do—they want nothing more than to see you succeed in the program. You also have access to an online learning specialist who can assist you with technical matters involving the learning management system.

To complete your ABSN courses online, you must enroll in our Downers Grove accelerated nursing program. Because it’s impossible to earn a BSN 100% online, you’ll need to go to our standalone Downers Grove ABSN Facility several times a week to complete hands-on nursing skills labs and nursing simulations. Clinical rotations take place at a variety of Chicagoland health-care facilities.

ABSN Onsite Courses

You’ll attend class and participate in nursing skills labs and nursing simulations at our Health Sciences Campus, home to Loyola’s Stritch School of Medicine and Marcella Niehoff School of Nursing. Clinical rotations take place at Chicagoland area health care facilities.

As a world-class research university with a distinguished health system, Loyola performs more than 120 clinical studies per year at the Maywood campus, addressing conditions across the health-care continuum, from diabetes to melanoma to urinary incontinence. With its focus on research and reaching across organizational boundaries, you’ll find the Health Sciences Campus constantly abuzz with new initiatives.

The campus hosts several research institutes that focus on various areas of health care, including burn and shock trauma, cardiovascular disease, neuroscience, infectious disease, immunology, and oncology.
