Accelerated BSN Program FAQs

Since there’s a lot of information surrounding our 16-month Accelerated BSN program in Maywood and Downers Grove, Illinois, we thought it would be helpful to provide the answers to our most frequently asked questions in one spot.

1. When do ABSN classes start?

ABSN program start dates are available in January and August.

2. What are the ABSN admission requirements?

First you need a BA or BS from an accredited institution and a cumulative GPA of at least 3.0 on a 4.0 scale. You then need to show the successful completion of all the ABSN prerequisites.

3. Can I apply to the program while completing the ABSN prerequisites?

You can apply to the ABSN program with some prerequisites in progress; however, you must satisfy the prerequisite requirements before you can start nursing school.

4. Can I work while in the Accelerated BSN program?

While some students work during the program, many choose to only focus on their professional nursing studies. An accelerated nursing education requires a lot of time and energy and could essentially be considered a full-time job.

5. What is the ABSN program tuition?

Whether you choose the online or onsite option, our ABSN program tuition is $52,820.

6. Is the online-based ABSN 100% online?

No, only the theory courses are online. Like the onsite option, the online-based ABSN requires face-to-face skills labs, simulations, and clinical rotations. It requires you to come to our ABSN Learning Center in Downers Grove a few times a week for labs and simulations and to go to local health care facilities for clinicals.
